Jiangsu ±800 kV Taizhou UHV Converter Station Remote Intelligent Inspection System Project

November 29, 2025

The Jiangsu ±800 kV Taizhou UHV Converter Station Remote Intelligent Inspection System is one of State Grid’s demonstration projects for digital converter station development. The project was designed to address the challenges of routine manual inspection, including high labor intensity and gaps in inspection coverage.

To enable remote intelligent inspection across the station, the system deployed 101 infrared thermal imaging binocular cameras, 140 white-light pan-tilt cameras, and 80 high-definition instrument cameras across key areas such as the valve hall, DC yard, converter transformers, and AC filter yard. It also integrated with the station’s existing HD video system, inspection robots, and infrared temperature measurement devices. By capturing high-definition images and infrared thermal data from primary equipment, bushings, switches, and other critical assets, and applying AI-based analysis for appearance defect detection, data comparison, and equipment condition assessment, the system delivers a more efficient and intelligent inspection solution for station operations.
